Heute endet die Automobilproduktion bei Opel in Bochum nach 52 Jahren. Ab 1962 wurde im Ruhrgebiet mit der Produktion des Kadett A begonnen, der ein großer Konkurrent des VW Käfers werden sollte. Sparsam, mit großem Kofferraum und guter Heizung, wurde er ein riesiger Erfolg. Das Werk in Bochum wurde extra für den Kadett A gebaut. Heute endet dort die Produktion für immer.
